Not ready to jump straight into uni? A gap year or working holiday might be exactly what you need. This session explores your options for taking time between school and further study — from organised gap year programs and volunteering to working holidays overseas.

What you'll learn in this session:

• How to plan a gap year that's productive, not just a break
• Why taking time off can actually make you a stronger student when you start uni

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

IENA, International Exchange of North America, is a US Department of State-designated J-1 visa sponsor that has been running cultural exchange programs since 1995. Based in Hackettstown, New Jersey, IENA places international participants into US summer camps, seasonal work-and-travel jobs, and longer professional internships. More than 100,000 participants have travelled with IENA, working at over 1,500 US summer camps among other placements. Its dedicated Australia and New Zealand pathway lets students extend their US working time well beyond the standard student window, making it a popular gap-year and exchange option.
