What if you could study one or two subject at a time, deeply and without distraction? That's exactly how the Southern Cross Model works — and it's changing the way students experience university. In this session, Southern Cross University explains how block learning works, why students love it, and how it leads to better results and less stress.
What you'll learn in this session:
How the Southern Cross Model works and why it's different from traditional semester-based study
The evidence behind why focused, immersive learning leads to better outcomes
Whether block learning could be the right study style for you
This session is presented by Sam Clark, the Future Students Officer at Southern Cross University.
Founded in 1994 in the NSW Northern Rivers, Southern Cross University has campuses in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast, plus metro locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. They’re best known for pioneering the Southern Cross Model, an active-learning approach where students focus on one or two units at a time, over six-week blocks.
